At the end of our most recent outdoor living project, our client said, "every time I walk into my backyard, it's like being on vacation. More and more homeowners are thinking of their yards as a place to vacation without the travel ...bringing the feeling of a vacation retreat to the other side of your back door. For these people, their outdoor living areas are extensions of their homes, bringing the comforts of indoors, out.

Creating beautiful, useful spaces outdoors is a great way to extend your home's living space. The addition of a deck, patio or porch can increase the enjoyment of your home by getting you outside into your own backyard oasis for all but a few months of the year. Dining al fresco on a warm summer night is an experience which seems so other-worldly, yet you can do it easily in your own outdoor ‘room'.  You can extend your pleasure into the shoulder seasons by warming up with a fire-pit or propane-powered area-heater. 

A water feature such as a pond, stream or waterfall can take the experience to whole other level of relaxation and you can ease your tension in a hot tub even in the winter…or maybe a pool for some family fun in the heat of summer?  Don't forget about outdoor lighting and beautiful landscaping which will enhance the beauty of your home year ‘round.

Remember when you were little and you spent all day outside (until the street lights came on)? How great was that?  Now how much time do you spend outside? …..Yeah, that's what I thought.   Look, none of us is getting any younger.  Think about having your own backyard oasis.  Put on a deck, a screened porch or a patio with a fire-pit and comfy seating so you can spend time with your family, entertain or simply relax…but whatever you do…enjoy the outdoors again.
